Warrior Relief & Response

Be part of the Wayne State community's response to COVID-19.

With the effects of COVID-19 still unfolding every day, we are taking proactive steps to protect our Wayne State community, as it has already drastically disrupted life on campus. In particular, many students find themselves struggling to cover unexpected costs related to getting home, food, housing, access to technology, and other unbudgeted circumstances.

Today, university programs and services that support students in need are more important than ever. Several funding opportunities below serve undergrad and graduate students campus-wide, as well as those enrolled in a specific college or school.

The impact of COVID-19 is significant and immediate. The gift you make now will assist our Wayne State students to overcome difficult setbacks. Together, we can help them get through this and stay on track for academic success. Thank you!

Student Emergency Fund

The Student Emergency Fund is a resource created to help currently enrolled Wayne State students who are in need of financial assistance during a time of hardship or unexpected emergency, like transportation, food, utilities, medications, or personal tragedy. Students can be considered even if they have received aid previously. The program ensures that temporary hardships do not prevent students from continuing forward and achieving their dreams of a college degree.

If you are a Wayne State student in need of financial help, contact studentservice@wayne.edu.

The HIGH Program

The HIGH (Helping Individuals Go Higher) Program helps homeless, precariously housed and financially challenged Wayne State students make it to graduation. The program provides resources for students-in-need, such as housing support, textbooks and other school supplies, clothing, transportation, and child-care assistance. The mission of the program is to ensure that no student abandons their dream of earning a degree solely because of housing or financial challenges.

W Food Pantry

The W Food Pantry provides currently enrolled Wayne State Warriors in need of food assistance with supplemental food and resources to enhance student success. Additional items such as toiletries and feminine hygiene items are also available. In its second year of operation, the pantry is able to provide these resources to students at no cost thanks to the support and help of students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and WSU community volunteers.

Students can visit the W Food Pantry on Wednesdays from noon to 4 pm.

Student Aid - International Programs

Help support our international students facing new travel and housing challenges because of the COVID-19 crisis and provide financial assistance to students who were studying abroad and had to return to the United States unexpectedly.
